Quick and efficient. You don't really need to get out of the car but the waiting area is nice and coffee and drinks are available. Clean restroom too.
*The front brake kit was completely missing (I never heard anything fall off, and the clicking had been there since my husband picked it up)
I have had good experiences with customer service on oil changes and tires (despite a few stripped lug nuts) for about 9 years. The Pit Stop is convenient and quick and has fair prices. However, I must give an honest review and warning because of my latest experience with brakes and tires. We have ordered tires with them in the past, but the ones we got about 10 month ago wore out really fast. I thought maybe it was because we needed new brake pads and an alignment. So, I made an appointment for brake pads.
*The Rotors were "cut to pieces" from being turned wrong
We had a big trip coming up, so I was trying to figure out if I could afford to rent a car. We had already spent hundreds of dollars for tires and brake work and I couldn't afford the needed alignment that I would have to get at another shop. I went to visit my dad who insisted I take the car to his Firestone shop that he has used for 20 years. I was worried that my car wouldn't make it to Gallatin, but when we got there the report was shocking. I was waiting for my brake pads to wear in, but come to find out, my car had been damaged.
Super fast and friendly, in and out for $36 in about 10 minutes.
First off, I was a little late to deliver my car (I had a hard time with my kids trying to get there), and I take responsibility for that. The owner was friendly and reassured me that he would still be able to service my car.
*The brakes and lugnuts were not tightened down
The pit stop is the quickest place to get your oil changed, the guys that work there are friendly. Very good service. They know what they need to do.
When my husband went to pick up the car at closing time, about 5 hours later, they were still working on it. They were changing the brake pads and turning the rotors. They stayed past closing time to finish. The owner complained to my husband that I was late and he felt rushed. This information made me feel very uncomfortable that maybe he doesn't respect me for some reason that he would be so friendly to my face but complain about me to my husband. He was cranking the rotors in a way that he explained was different from how other shops do it. My husband came home, and the brakes sounded horrible. We thought maybe the new brake pads just needed to be worked in, and we knew we needed to go elsewhere to get an alignment.
SO, I write all this to say, I won't be going back. BEWARE if you take the risk of getting your brakes done. The tires are not great quality for the money. READ THE FINE PRINT. And I'm glad myself and my two little girls didn't have more damage than being out all this money. I think we're thankful even to just have our lives. I'm sad to give this review. Good luck to all the other customers. I hope if you have bad work here that you survive to get to the shop and get it fixed.
*Lugnuts were missing
My dad paid a lot of money, at least 7x as much as I paid the Pit Stop, to fix all the damage done to my car, so I asked my husband to find the time if he could get off work early to go talk about refunding the cost of labor if not help pay for the damage. We don't usually complain or get refunds for anything, which is a big reason why I didn't rush to write this review.
If he had made things right, I would have given this information with 3 stars.
Today my husband went in to have this conversation with the owner. He was pointed to the fine print on the work ticket (of course we didn't see it until this moment!) If you take your car to someone else to fix whatever work they did, you void all warranty of their work. Nothing else. Just a "too bad" and we're sent away.
Fast, friendly and good price
*The tires were worn beyond acceptible for only being 10 months old (we spent a lot of money for new tires through the Pit Stop)
I didn't want to write a bad review, so I will be thorough in my explaination:
This is our only vehicle, so when the clicking, loud "rubbing noises" and shaking/shimmying continued, I became concerned. I wondered how long it would take for the brakes to settle or whatever needed to happen. I would have taken the car back to the pit stop, but I was still uncomfortable about what he told my husband.
